NAME
xfingerd - simple BSD-compatible finger daemon
SYNOPSIS
xfingerd is supposed to be called from inetd.
DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the xfingerd command. This manual
page was written for the Debian distribution because the original
program does not have a manual page.
xfingerd is yet another BSD-like fingerd replacement aiming at
security. xfingerd allows users to be fingered with UID 1000-29999
(according to the Debian Policy Manual, Section 3.2, this range of UIDs
will be assigned by adduser). Users can prevent themselves to be
fingered by creating an empty $HOME/.nofinger file. PGP public keys
can be placed and will be displayed from $HOME/.pgpkey.
